The Bread of Life

The Bread of Life

You wouldn’t go a day without food or water—so why go a day without God?

It’s an easy pattern to fall into: waking up, rushing through the day, and realizing by evening that we never took time to pray or read His Word. That kind of spiritual neglect leaves us tired, anxious, and unfulfilled.

We should hunger for God the way our stomach growls for food.

Our hearts should crave His presence, His Word, and His guidance.

Jesus reminds us of this truth in John 6:35:

“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

Through Him, we find complete fulfillment. The same way bread sustains the body, Christ sustains the soul.

Thousands witnessed His miracles, heard His words, and felt His love—and through that same love, He continues to feed us today. Every moment spent in prayer or Scripture is nourishment for our spirit. Every quiet devotion is a meal shared with the One who saves.

When we open our hearts to Jesus, we’re accepting His invitation to sit at the table of grace—where peace replaces worry and strength replaces fear.

Without that daily connection, our faith weakens, just as a body would without sustenance. But when we feed our souls with His truth, we are renewed.

So today, take time to eat from His Word. Drink deeply of His promises. Let your heart be filled, your mind refreshed, and your soul satisfied.

Because with Jesus, there is always enough.

Reflection Prompt:

What “spiritual meal” have you been neglecting lately—prayer, worship, or time in the Word? Set aside a few minutes today to feed your spirit and thank God for His daily bread.
